ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ helps pastors and other church leaders gain a much deeper fluency in reading the New Testament in Greek!

Listen to what they have to say about our courses and teachers…

I would highly recommend ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ for anyone who is looking to improve their grasp of New Testament Greek...

I’m a pastor and a New Testament grad student, with research on Koine Greek published in a number of academic journals. Basically, I’m part of the small number of people that the traditional grammar-translation method of Greek instruction works very well for. But after taking the upper beginner communicative Greek class online with Jordash in 2018, I can tell you that this communicative approach exemplified in ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ provides a significantly more authentic, more internalized, and more enjoyable form of language instruction.

In a combination of live online classes and videos… Jordash had us listening, talking, and thinking not in terms of grammatical labels but in the actual Greek language, the same as native speakers would have done. My speed in reading Greek has improved as a result of this class, and I look forward to when higher levels of ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ are available.

Jordash’s skill in speaking Greek is coupled with deliberate and well-applied methods of second-language acquisition, meaning that the language goal for a particular exercise is always both transparent and then accomplished. His positive encouragement and his enthusiasm in voice and gesture greatly disarm students of any nervousness, making it easy for every student to be engaged and to put themselves out there in the kind of way that is necessary for learning a new language. I would highly recommend ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ for anyone who is looking to improve their grasp of New Testament Greek, regardless of what their current ability level is.

The best of teachers are honest about the mountain ahead, but know how to celebrate every step along the way. I’ve received a B.S., M.Div., ThM. and D.Min. and Jordash is among the most edifying teachers I’ve ever learned under. The language learning process has never been more intuitive and enjoyable. He combines the playfulness of a game with the spiritual dedication of a shepherd’s heart. The class is structured in such a way that ensures the learner is daily in the language, but never drowning. You will find your classmates are also a humble blessing. Even after the class was completed Jordash has taken the time to send us extra refreshers to stay engaged. I look forward to future classes and fully recommend this learning process to pastors who want to brush up on and take their Greek to new levels. You won’t regret signing up.

The ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ Greek course was exactly what I was looking for. Immersive Koine Greek language experience that gives you a feel for the language without memorizing endless charts! The classroom sessions were fun and engaging and the homework reasonable and gratifying!

it changed the way I read the Bible in the original Greek for the better...

I have the privilege of serving as one of the pastors at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan… Before my ΟΜΙΛΕΙΝ course, I spent eight years learning Greek through grammar analysis, rote memorization, and reading. I reached a point where I was happy with my New Testament Greek skills and felt ready to prepare sermons for my congregation based on the original Greek. So I didn’t feel a great need to study Greek in a different way when I took this course. By the end of the course, I didn’t just feel that need again, but, more importantly, I also wanted to learn more…

The live online classes were particularly fun and educational. You made mistakes, and learned, and others learned from watching you. Then you saw others make mistakes and learn, as you learned from them. All the while you never felt ashamed; you felt excited to learn, because the instructor did such a good job celebrating every learning moment...

I found myself intuitively understanding things in five minutes that would take two lectures and reading a grammar book chapter twice to learn in a normal class. Better yet, even though I did understand certain grammar rules from previous classes, when I learned them in an active communicative way they came alive…

The best thing I can say about this course is that it changed the way I read the Bible in the original Greek for the better… This course made me want to keep coming back to read the New Testament in Greek, not just for study, but for personal devotions—and for pleasure!

I recommend this course and its instructor to anyone, especially pastors who are ready to have God’s words in the New Testament come alive again, for themselves and for their people.

A new day has dawned for Koine Greek and New Testament studies.

Few are as fluent today in spoken Koine Greek as Jordash. Having studied under him in 2007 in the world’s first intensive living Koine Greek course, offered by the Biblical Language Centre, and afterwards in online courses with Jordash, I gasp in amazement at the fluency level of Jordash and many of his students. A new day has dawned for Koine Greek and New Testament studies.

In 2009, I wrote an article in which I lamented my decades of studying Greek using the traditional grammatical approach. The article began: “Until recently, I, a New Testament scholar, was often embarrassed by my level of Greek fluency, even after 35 years of studying this ancient biblical language. A lack of true fluency in Greek, active knowledge of the language as opposed to passive, is a scourge. Finding myself in this situation, my disappointment was real, but it was kept hidden from my students.” The article concluded in praise of learning to speak Koine Greek fluently.

For Koine Greek language acquisition there has never been a teacher like Dr. Jordash Kiffiak! It reminds me of Saul’s praise of David in 1 Samuel 10:24, אֵין כָּמֹהוּ in Hebrew or οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτῷ ὅμοιος in Greek: "There is no one like him."

Pastors—know the Lord’s Prayer or Jesus’ words at the Last Supper by heart in Greek? Why not learn to access and fluently comprehend core scriptural texts in the language that they were written for us in?
